TITLE: Food Sorter/ General Labor
LOCATION: Bea Gaddy Family Centers, Inc. 425 N. Chester Street Baltimore, MD 21231
DAYS: Mondays
NUMBER OF STUDENTS DAILY: 10
BEGINNING DATE/ENDING DATE: 26 November
Number of Hours Available: 12
HOURS: 10am-2 pm
STUDENTS: Freshman- Only students entering the 9th Grade- Students must register on a first come-first served basis. Must bring original Report Cards
NATURE OF POSITION: To introduce the students to the fundamentals of the
operations a food pantry.
RELATIONSHIPS: Develops a good working relationship with the staff, clients and other youth workers. Provides leadership and support to staff and residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible ensuring that food is brought in and sorted on the shelves. Responsible for loading and unloading of delivery trucks. Ensures that bags of groceries are prepared as needed daily. Ensures shelves are restocked at the end of the day. Ensures the clients sign in daily. Assists in loading of vehicles from the senior buildings. Responsible for participating in the summer lunch program. Responsible for sweeping and trash removal from containers. Ensures all expired foods are removed from the shelves and disposed of properly. Responsible for ensuring that the grounds are maintained. Responsible for cutting of grass. Responsible for sweeping and mopping of upstairs hallway. Responsible for sweeping mopping front and back stairs. Responsible for the collection of trash and replaces trash bags on the second floor daily. Responsible for policing up of trash around the outside of the building as needed. Responsible for placing trash in designated area as scheduled.
DRESS CODE: Tee-Shirts and jeans are acceptable, no flip flops, sandals or, shorts.
Jeans are okay belts must always be worn . No overly exposed skin will be allowed (. i.e. belly buttons, breast etc…) workers will not be allowed to display under clothes at any time.
