Help Us Continue a Baltimore Thanksgiving Tradition

Since 1981, the Bea Gaddy Thanksgiving Dinner, also known as Bea Gaddy’s Thanks for Giving Campaign, has brought food, hope, and community to families throughout Baltimore.

The tradition began when Bea Gaddy used $250 she won in the Maryland State Lottery to provide Thanksgiving dinner for 40 neighbors in need. What started as one generous act grew into a beloved Baltimore tradition that continues to serve our community each Thanksgiving.

Our 2026 Thanksgiving Wish List

We need your help to make this year’s Bea Gaddy Thanksgiving Dinner possible! Please help us prepare by dropping off your donations during the designated times below.

2026 Thanksgiving Donation Drop-Off Schedule

November 9–15
Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
Saturday: By appointment only

November 16–25
Monday–Sunday: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Please drop off donations during the hours listed above. Drop-off times are based on available volunteer coverage, and we appreciate your cooperation and support.

Food Needs

  • 500 turkeys

  • 600 No. 10 cans of corn OR 15 cases of frozen corn

  • 600 No. 10 cans of green beans OR 15 cases of frozen green beans

  • 600 No. 10 cans of sweet potatoes

  • Stuffing

  • Mashed potatoes

  • Turkey gravy

  • Coffee

  • Chicken seasoning and assorted spices

  • Brown sugar

  • Water and other drinks

Serving & Kitchen Supplies

  • 60 cases of large pans

  • 60 cases of large pan lids

  • 60 cases of take-home containers

  • Disposable aprons

  • Hair nets

  • 20–45 cases of 55-gallon trash bags

  • 20 cases of T-shirt bags

Monetary donations can be made online through Zeffy. Every contribution helps us purchase the food and supplies necessary to serve our community.

Wish list items may also be purchased from retailers such as The Restaurant Store in Baltimore, Sam’s Club in Glen Burnie, or Costco at Arundel Mills and dropped off at the Bea Gaddy Family Center.
